Lisa serves as the primary contact for tattoo consultations, appointment scheduling, and inquiries throughout the entire process. With decades of customer service experience, she is dedicated to delivering outstanding support to clients.

Bret Jensen

Owner/Tattoo Artist

Bret is highly skilled in both designing original tattoos and performing innovative cover-up work. He completed a three-year apprenticeship under RJ at RJ’s Tattoo Studio in Harvard, IL, where he also worked for a total of four and a half years. During this time, he acquired expertise in constructing his own coil machines and needles, initially focusing on fine line tattoo techniques. Subsequently, Bret joined Redwood’s Wild Side Tattoo in Richmond, IL, where he spent an additional three years refining his craft. In 2007, he established Explosive Ink Tattoo in Hebron, IL.

He prefers to use Danny Fowler coil and Critical Torque™ tattoo machines. For inks, he selects Eternal™, Intenze™, Dynamic™ and StarBrite™ brands. All inks utilized are professionally produced, vegan, and subjected to quality testing and inspection. Products are sourced exclusively from reputable vendors committed to consistent quality.

In August 2025 Bret moved Explosive Ink Tattoo into Papaz Tattoo Studio @ 1903 Saloon located in Trevor, WI. He celebrated his 25th year tattooing in 2025.
